Abstract:
This paper aims at making a fundamental approach that allows to seduce the reader, who is unaware of the work of the contemporary Portuguese writer born in Madeira Island, Ana Teresa Pereira, by unveiling some central information about herself.
This research is based, essentially, on what the writer says about herself in interviews that she has given, her writings and the analysis from her own fictional texts or essays, citing the work published until 2012 and looking forward to characterize its peculiar and labyrinthine universe.
One can assert that Ana Teresa Pereira has been building, within the Portuguese fiction, a strong and coherent work with the publication of over thirty titles between 1989 and 2012.
