Abstract:
The linkages between human capital and territorial development is a topic that has deep roots in the social sciences, particularly in economics. This article aims to analyze the impact that the three Ts proposed by Richard Florida, the talent, technology and tolerance, have on economic performance.
Based on data for the European Union twenty-seven member states, the approach follows a Partial Least Squares method to estimate a structural equation model explaining the theory of the three Ts. The results confirm statistically the significance of the theoretical relationships studied and emphasize the role of talent as a central engine in the whole economic process.
