Abstract:
This study analyzes the influence of two programs of psychomotor intervention in the social and emotional development and in child self-concept: 1) spontaneous play (EG), where the adult participates actively in the different games spontaneously created by the children, and 2) that consists of different games planned and organized by the adult for the children, this having only the function of teaching the game and giving feedback on the performance of the children. Participants included 46 children (4.1 ± 0.8 years old), 46 teachers (34.9 ± 5.5 years old) and 3 educators (54 ± 2.9 years old) organized in three experimental groups: GE, GD and a control group (CG) which did not intervene. The following evaluation instruments were evaluated before and after the intervention phase (24 sessions): 1) Child Self-Concept Perception Scale; 2) Preschool and Kindergarten behavior scale- second edition. The first one answered the children and the second the caretakers (EE) and the educators (E). Statistically significant differences were found in the EG, between the pre and post-test. These differences were observed in the reduction of the behavioral problems signaled by the educators, and in the increase of the self-concept of the children
