Abstract:
The aim of this study was to diagnose the social climate of a primary class to improve social relations amongst the children and to deal with the behavioral problems exhibited by some of the children. A nomination questionnaire was used to diagnose the behavior patterns of each child and of the class as a whole, collecting information on sociometric indices, aggressive behavior, prosocial behavior, social isolation, leadership, and victimization. Based on the results obtained from the questionnaire, the teacher designed educational strategies for pair and work groups, using cognitive and behavioral strategies, to improve the children’s behavior as well as the social climate.
