The paper presents results on perception of different types of behavior as exemplifications of sexual harassment at workplace. It is based on an empirical study carried out in Portugal in 2004 on convenience sample. The perceptions were analyzed in the light of the impact of 135 selected independent (individual and institutional) variables (sex; age; level of education; tenure; hierarchical level; actual and future sense of security of employment and career development; property and capital origin of the company; its size, age, sector and financial situation). The main results point out that women, more frequently than men, tend to classify quite all types of behavior presented as examples of sexual harassment; significant differences were found in perception of respondents due to sex, age and level of education differences; men, as they grow older, tend to be less tolerant in relation to some conducts of sexual harassment, whereas women inversely, when become older, tend to be more tolerant in relation to some conducts of sexual harassment.
