Egitania Sciencia Journal - Volume 15
The editing of this number of Egitania Sciencia coincides with the beginning of a new mandate as President of Instituto Politécnico da Guarda. As I said during the swearing in ceremony, we face a difficult road, but we are motivated to, with the help of all, the accumulated knowledge and experience, the accuracy and the bet on quality, the collaboration with other institutions, the adjustment of the education offer and the transfer of technical and scientific knowledge to companies, to consolidate and lead the IPG, a high level of recognition in national and international terms.
The near future will require an even more cohesive Polytechnic, more dynamic, more qualified and more flexible, available to change, able to find consistent answers to the new challenges posed by significant transformations observed in Portuguese society, both in legislative perspective as in financial and social view, either by the demands, challenges and opportunities that the globalized world presents us.
The challenge requires, on the one hand, the commitment, the work and the intelligence of the academic community, and on the other hand, the support of a mobilized region which, through its enterprises, local authorities and other social and cultural organizations, has shown available for building the future, stating the IPG as a structure of higher education and qualification of human resources, innovation, entrepreneurship, I&D and knowledge transfer.
In this strategy is included the editorial perspective of the Instituto Politécnico da Guarda, where this scientific journal have an eminent role to play, in line with the work so far developed.
The present volume is other proof of this work and the capacity of agglutination of appropriate collaborations.
